The Ins and Outs of Noise Exposure

The Ins and Outs of Noise Exposure

Excessive noise exposure in the workplace can place a limit on workers’ ability to communicate and hear warning signals and can limit their safety and productivity. A more significant risk is that long-term noise exposure increases the risk of hearing loss, with implications for workers’ health, employment prospects and overall quality of life.

Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) can be prevented by introducing effective hearing conservation programmes. Such programmes include assistance in conducting Noise Surveys to establish the noise exposure levels in all areas of the business.

ATVANCE EMPOWERED RISK MANAGEMENT offers the professional service of conducting Health and Hygiene Risk Assessments to establish these noise areas and persons who are exposed to high noise levels.

A monitoring plan can then be established, and we can assist in the monitoring and reporting of these figures periodically.

Training on the correct use of PPE is provided to ensure persons do wear the correct PPE and to ensure the PPE provided has the required outcome of reducing noise levels for workers.
