First Aid Training: Level 2

Course Description:

This unit standard is an intermediate course. As Level 2 First Aid is not a requirement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act but is ideal for any person who is enthusiastic to know more about cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other lifesaving skills and techniques to be used in an emergency.

Modules:

Module 1: Demonstrate the principles of primary emergency care in the workplace
Module 2: Sustain a basic level of preparedness for health emergencies in the workplace
Module 3: Assess and manage an emergency scene in the workplace
Module 4: Demonstrate primary emergency life support for adults, children and infants according to current international protocols
Module 5: Explain and manage shock
Module 6: Conduct secondary assessment of the sick and/or injured person and provide appropriate primary emergency care within the workplace
